PRESS RELEASE: Zenkaikon Announces 2008 Attendance and 2009 Convention Dates
Convention attendance more than doubled in 2008.

VALLEY FORGE, PENNSYLVANIA - November 14, 2008: Zenkaikon, the Philadelphia area's fastest growing anime and gaming convention, has announced that it will be returning to the Valley Forge Convention Plaza for its fourth year on November 7 – 8, 2009. This year's event will take place in the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel, which is a part of the same complex that has hosted Zenkaikon from 2006 through 2008. Starting as a one-day convention in 2005, Zenkaikon has experienced rapid growth, with attendance doubling from approximately 570 in 2007 to over 1300 in 2008. The Zenkaikon staff wishes to thank the many attendees who made the 2008 event such a huge success. They hope to see this trend continue in 2009, and are actively anticipating expansion with larger performance and panel areas, dealer space, and video game rooms. Many of the details regarding convention guests, hotel rooms, and activities are still to be determined at this time. Nevertheless, Zenkaikon is planning to move swiftly with planning and announcing exciting news and information. Keep watching www.zenkaikon.com for details on Zenkaikon 2009. There you will find information on pre-registration dates and rates, artist and vendor table reservations, and 2009 performers and events!

Also, so that everyone is aware, here is some information regarding the attendance cap...

Thanks to everyone who made pre-registration for Zenkaikon 2009 such an extraordinary success. Due to the overwhelming number of pre-registrations (approximately a 160% increase over the previous year), we've has decided to announce an attendance cap of 1500 attendees per day for the convention. By this Tuesday (October 20), there will be a count available on the registration page of the Zenkaikon website, noting the number of available memberships remaining.

In order to give as many attendees as possible the opportunity to pre-register, online registration will remain open through Wednesday, November 4, 2009 (three days before the event). Attendees who pre-register are guaranteed admission to the convention, and will be able to check in beginning at 8:00am on Saturday (an hour before general admission).

After November 4th, we will post an announcement with how many memberships are still available at the door, based on the number of pre-registrations we have.

Any questions regarding registration or the attendance cap can be directed to registration@zenkaikon.com (or you can send me a PM too). Thanks for your understanding as we work with the hotel to ensure everyone has a great time at the con!
